The weather man has tried his best to interfere with the Lefcoe Leadership Class of 2014’s schedule this year but, in the end, he has proven to be no match for the group’s grit, determination and organizational skills. In just over 11 weeks the group has planned, financed and completed their “hands-on” project a toddler playground at the Ida Barbour Early Learning Center. Mulch and boxes of playground equipment arrived on Friday, March 21, and by noon on Sunday the class of volunteers had put the 648-232 finishing touches on the project – complete with mulch and trees. Just in time, too – around 1pm the first drops of rain began to fall. The kids arrived on Monday, and the pictures tell the story.
