How best to capitalize on Olde Towne Portsmouth’s historical treasures while having fun, raising money, and connecting with friends? ¬†The Lefcoe Alumni Association chose a competitive historical scavenger hunt, complete with prizes, to get alumni and their friends out into Olde Towne’s shady streets on Saturday, April 26. ¬†Individual teams donned costumes (also subject to competitive judging) and, questionnaires in hand, set out to see how many quirky and arcane details they could chase down within a two-hour time limit. Music, food, beverages and prizes greeted competitors at the end of the day. The day’s efforts were all directed toward support of Portsmouth Public Schools and, with nearly $2,400 raised toward the Lefcoe Alumni SAIL Award and student scholarships, the group was delighted with the event’s result.
